iMesh allows you to set your preferences according to your needs. To change preferences: from the menu bar click Preferences, then Options. The Preference menu opens.

Launch on Startup: launches iMesh automatically whenever you run Windows.
Always on top: opens the main window on top of all other windows.
Show Splash: when checked, a screen splash appears each time your start iMesh.
Show Desktop Icon: adds/removes a desktop shortcut to iMesh.
Sticky Windows: Pulls the skin graphic to the window edge.
Show Menu: Enables you to show/hide the standard windows menu at the top of the iMesh screen.
Enables you to change the location of the default downloads directory.
Set/change your password
Make your nickname visible/invisible to other users
Activate/de-activate password use
Activate anti virus application for use with iMesh (To use this you have to find the anti virus exe file and then activate it when using iMesh.)
The I.D information that you typed in while registering appears here. You can change any or all entries in this window.
Clear your search history
Indicate if you prefer to see only the files that are currently available for download.
Set the maximum number of simultaneous downloads
Select how you will be notified when a download is completed
Set the maximum number of simultaneous uploads
Enter the ports you do not want used when downloading from your computer
Set the time intervals for iMesh to re-scan your computer for new files to share
Allow/deny other users to view all of your shared files
Enable/disable icon animation during searching
Select your connection type and speed
Set your proxy setting if applicable
Personalize your iMesh screen interface
Enable/disable iMesh instant messages
Select how you want to be informed of a new message arrival
Remove people from your Ignore list
Enable /disable the Auto Update feature, which checks if a new version of iMesh has been released. If it has, it is installed automatically.
Set the time intervals for iMesh to scan for a new version
Note: You can also check for a new version from the tool bar by clicking Tools, then Check for a new version.
